The Anointing of Jesus |

Text: Acts 10:38 (12) "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." Old Testament kings were anointed with the holy oil reserved for the ceremony of anointing only (Exodus 29:7 ; Leviticus 8:10 ; 1 Samuel 16:13). Jesus, on the other hand, as the declared high priest of God, was not anointed with the traditional holy oil, but with the Holy Spirit. |
